11 Things to Do When Bored at Home

We had almost two years of constant time at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we all had to look for hobbies and activities to keep ourselves from getting bored. As a result of my ADHD, I bought a lot of guides on Amazon, which took me from crafts projects like selling candles to teaching myself how to code.

Now that everything’s back to business as usual, I miss having extra time to do those hobbies that entertained me and taught me fantastic new skills.

Within this list, you’ll find fun activities and boredom busters to help others in your community who may need a bit of a boost. Tackle boredom and enjoy time for yourself to create or just relax at home.

1. Take up an Old Hobby

Start by considering why you first became interested in that hobby, then think about why you abandoned it. If you need to, make a list or write down what you missed or what you found frustrating. As you learn more about your hobby, you can determine why you quit and then begin it again.

Don’t let that $19.99 “whatever” kit you got online a few months ago sit unattended. You may get so good at it that you develop a new business idea. Regardless, creative things like hobbies can give us the stimulation we need to keep us from being bored.

2. Listen to Podcasts

As content creation has evolved, podcasts have come to cover all sorts of topics, from horror to entertainment to famous books. You can laugh, chill, and entertain yourself by learning about a new topic or listening to your idol’s life story.

3. Read a Book, a Graphic Novel, or Fiction

4. Watch Movies or TV Shows
